Mark Zuckerberg — CEO of Meta. His invitation was yet another sign of how closely U.S. foreign policy is now intertwined with the interests of the largest technology companies.

Tim Cook—Chairman of Apple’s Board of Directors. The company maintains extensive manufacturing and commercial ties with China, so his presence at the talks between Washington and Beijing is particularly symbolic.

The list included representatives from Nvidia, Apple, Meta, Amazon, OpenAI, Google, Microsoft, Qualcomm, Boeing, BlackRock, JPMorgan Chase, and other major companies.

The New York Times notes that the dinner was attended by both American business leaders and representatives of the Chinese delegation. The White House itself described the evening as part of Xi Jinping’s official state visit to the United States.
