Putin's Envoy Held A Meeting With Trump's Representatives

On September 24, Kremlin Special Representative Kirill Dmitriev held a meeting in New York with Steve Whitcoff and Jared Kushner. The parties discussed U.S.-Russia relations and the possible end to the war against Ukraine.

Dmitriev’s meeting with representatives of the U.S. president took place against the backdrop of diplomatic contacts between Washington and Moscow.

Sources familiar with the situation told CNN that one of the topics of the talks was a peaceful resolution to the Russia-Ukraine war. The parties also discussed further cooperation between the U.S. and Russia.

According to sources, Dmitriev was in New York to continue contacts between the two countries and efforts aimed at finding a solution to end the war. These talks followed Vladimir Putin’s meeting with U.S. representatives in early September.

Other talks

The day before, on September 23, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov also met in New York. They discussed the Russian-Ukrainian war.
