The health of the youth leader who had been forcibly drafted to the army has deteriorated considerably, however he is denied admission to hospital.

On January 20 Franak Vyachorka was taken to examination in Mozyr dispensary. Doctors said that he has dermatitis, which is complication of scabies. But the young activist was denied hospital admission.

Radio Svaboda told about that by the father of the young activists, one of the leaders of the of the Belarusian Popular Front Party Vintsuk Vyachorka. He reminded that on January 5 his son was discharged from the hospital and returned to the army unit, after an announcement of online press-conference with Franak Vyachorka appeared at the website of Radio Svaboda. After that the young activists was punished by 7 extra duty days for alleged lies about scabies in the military unit.

“Doctors placed him to the hospital in order to treat dermatitis, but commanding officers didn’t follow the advice of doctors for unknown reasons. He was taken to the barracks, where he is not placed to the medical unit, and does not have necessary medicines,” Vintsuk Vyachorka said.

“They tried to send him to extra duties in such a state. I called commanding officers of the military brigade in Baranavichy, deputy commander on ideology Syarhei Hrysiuk, and told that human rights were violated, as the person is denied timely medical aid, and patient’s rights were violated. Unfortunately, I heard only one replica: “He’d better do his military service in due order”, told the father of the activists forcibly drafted to the army.

We remind that in July 2008 the medical board of Soviet district of Minsk found Franak Vyachorka not fit for military service because of his state of health. The regional medical commission challenged this decision. After examination in the military hospital the young man received deferment till March 2009. However on January 16 the military enlistment office of Savetski district of Minsk found the young man able-bodied. The court of this district where the decision of the military enlistment office was challenged, upheld it on January 23. Unfortunately, I heard only one remark: “He’d better do his military service in due order”, told the father of the activists forcibly drafted to the army.

At present the young man is ding military service in the military unit 48694 in Mozyr (Homel region).
