Belarusian paratrooper Eduard Lobau

A new mini-film about a political prisoner Eduard Lobau has appeared on the internet.

A member of the youth organization Young Front Eduard Lobau was detained together with the organization’s leader Dzmitry Dashkevich almost two years ago on the eve of the presidential elections of 2010, the human rights center Viasna reports.

Lobau was arrested on 18 December 2010 and on 24 March 2011 he was sentenced to four years in a high security prison by the court of Minsk’s Moscow district according to the article 339 part 3 of the Criminal code (malicious hooliganism). He is now in the colony No 22 in Ivatsevichy.

Lobau’s lawyer Alena Ausiannikava stated when making a speech in the court that the guilt must be proven by undeniable evidence and cannot be built on assumptions, whereas there were no evidence provided on the court proving the incontestability of the guilt of the accused.
