Dictator is going to sell “surplus” of weapons

Lukashenko heard out a working report from Sergei Gurulev, Chairman of the State Defense Industries Committee.

The press service quoted Alexander Lukashenko as saying: “First of all, I’d like to hear how the instructions I gave to the defense industry when you were appointed are being fulfilled. There are several issues left from the past that we have to deal with”.

Lukashenko said: “It is important to avoid errors. We shouldn’t try to resolve every problem. But we don’t have to reinvent the wheel that we don’t need. Our army needs modern weapons. If we create something in addition to those, we will have the right to sell them without violating international treaties”.

Alexander Lukashenko was interested in the state of affairs in defense industry enterprises and their foreign trade surplus.

Sergei Gurulev informed Alexander Lukashenko that the Belarusian defense industry developed quite smoothly. “Since the establishment of the independent republic we have never violated the international law. All the attempts to drag in violations have failed,” he remarked.
