Belarus Ranks First In Rise In Prices Among Former Soviet Union States

Belarus comes first among the countries of the former Soviet Union in rise in consumer prices in February 2016 and the second regarding the results of January – February.
It is demonstrated by the analysis of the national statistics agencies’ data, carried out by BelaPAN.
In February consumer prices in the country rose by 2.9%. Kazakhstan goes next in the rating (1.1%), then follow Estonia (0.7%), Russia (0.6%), Tajikistan (0.5%), Azerbaijan (0.4%), Georgia and Latvia (by 0.1% each). Prices in Kyrgyzstan have come down by 0.2%, by 0.3% in Lithuania, by 0.4% in Ukraine, by 0.5% in Moldova, by 1.4% in Armenia. There is no information about Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. In the unrecognized state Transnistria, which has its own financial system, the prices have come down by 0.6% over the month.
In the first two months of this year the consumer prices have risen in Azerbaijan (6.3%), Belarus (4.8%) and Kazakhstan (2.5%) most. This index was lower in Tajikistan (1.9%), Russia (1.6%), Georgia (1%), Armenia (0.8%), Estonia (0.6%), Ukraine (0.5%) and Moldova (0.1%). A downward price movement is recorded in Kyrgyzstan (by 0.3%), Latvia (by 0.5%) and Lithuania (0.7%). There is no information about Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The prices in Transnistria have come down by 0.4%.
In January 2016 with its price rise of 1.9% Belarus took the third position, after Azerbaijan (5.8%) and Armenia (2.2%), leaving behind Tajikistan (1.4%), Kazakhstan (1.3%), Russia (1%), Georgia, Ukraine (0.9% each) and Moldova (0.7%). The prices in Kyrgyzstan have not changed, and they were reduced in Estonia (by 0.1%), Lithuania (by 0.3%) and Latvia (by 0.6%).
