President Of Poland Congratulated Belarusians On BPR’s 100th Anniversary

Andrzej Duda wishs the Belarusians luck and success for the benefit of their Motherland.

March 25 marks the 100th anniversary of the proclamation of the Belarusian People's Republic.

On this occasion, Polish President Andrzej Duda wished the Belarusians "with whom the Polish people are connected by common history and culture," good luck and success for the benefit of their Motherland, Radio Poland reports.

Festive events timed to the anniversary of the first independent state in the newest history of Belarus are held in Minsk and other cities of Belarus on Sunday, March 25.

At noon, the opposition March of Dignity and Freedom is to be held in the Belarusian capital. The authorities have allowed holding a rally and a concert near the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater. However, according to the human rights organization Viasna, in many cities and towns, the authorities are taking actions to block the festive events.

On March 24, preventive detentions of local opposition activists took place in Babruisk, Biaroza, Brest, Slutsk, Vileika. On Sunday, opposition politician, former presidential candidate Mikalai Statkevich was detained in Minsk.
