Businessman Shakutsin Complains to Journalists about EU Sanctions

The sanctions against near-regime businesses are working.

The real estate and car of the well-known businessman Aliaksandr Shakutsin, chairman of the board of directors of AMKODOR, the holding's management company, are under arrest. The businessman complained to journalists of Narodnaya Volya about the EU sanctions imposed on him for his ties with Lukashenka's regime.

The businessman stated he had a lot of other problems that were not related to the sanctions. Some of his property in Belarus was seized. But now he can't make business trips to Europe to look for investors abroad. Besides; sanctions hit his wallet.

- These sanctions are not only imposed on me. They apply to everything I own. They damage Amkodor as I am a shareholder. The EU acted very cunningly," complained Shakutsin.

As we can see sanctions against Lukashenka's wallets are becoming a problem for them. Yesterday it became known that Ukraine refused to sell BTA Bank to Mikalai Varabei, who is also on the EU sanctions list.
