Large Scale Fire At Vitsebsk Poultry Factory - There Are Victims

Ten fire trucks were involved in extinguishing the fire.

A video of the fire at the Vitsebsk broiler poultry farm in the village of Viarkhouye has appeared in the network. Judging by the video, the facility is burning heavily. The Ministry of Emergency Situations confirmed to Onlíner that a team of rescuers was sent to the scene.

"Right now, there's a serious fire at the Vitsebsk broiler poultry farm in the village of Viarkhouye," reports the Belarus Beyond the Ring Road telegram channel.

"The gatehouse at the construction site of the new slaughterhouse caught fire. The smoke spread was increasing very quickly. About 10 fire trucks and at least one ambulance took part in extinguishing the fire. There is no information about casualties so far," reports a reader of the Basta telegram channel.

"Yes, the message about the fire was reported to the Ministry of Emergency Situations. At the moment, some teams are working there. Until the teams are back, we can't give any details. As soon as there is some information, it will be posted on our website," said representatives of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Vitsebsk region.

As it became known later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations received a message about the fire in the morning. According to the rescuers, a construction site was on fire. Unfortunately, there were casualties. "In the course of extinguishing the fire, employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations found under a layer of collapsed building structures the body of a man born in 1962, a worker of the construction company," reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

At the moment the fire is extinguished. The case is currently being investigated. The cause and circumstances of the incident are being found out.
