Lukashenka Stakes On Syrians?
BASHAR ASSAD

Dictator Assad is also not interested in the return of his country's citizens home.

Kurdistan Parliament member, member of the parliamentary committee for relations with the Kurdish diaspora Chiya Sharif reports on her Twitter that 2,350 people have already returned from Belarus to Kurdistan alone. Earlier, it was about about 1,900 Iraqi citizens who flew away from Belarus, historian Alexander Fridman writes in Telegram.

However, the evacuation flight of the Cham Wings airline from Minsk to Damascus, about which the London Arab newspaper Asharq Al-Awsat wrote, did not take place yesterday. If flights from Minsk to Baghdad and Erbil will, most likely, continue, then nothing is going to happen in the Syrian direction. And this is easy to explain: the Syrians are now much more important to the Belarusian authorities than the Iraqis.

Official Minsk does not lose hope to send a certain part of migrants to the EU. If the EU really begins to accept them, then the choice will be made primarily in favor of people who have a real chance of obtaining asylum. And for Iraqis, and especially those coming from a stable by Middle Eastern standards Kurdistan, such chances are an order of magnitude lower than those of Syrian citizens arriving from a country that continues to be ruled by the bloody dictator Bashar al-Assad. This important partner of the Lukashenka regime is not interested in the return of the Syrians, among whom there are enough opponents of the current Syrian government.

And this is probably the main reason why targeted evacuation to Syria is not being carried out.
