Domracheva About Lukashenka Regime: I Believe That Belarus Will Pull Through It And Everything Will Be Fine
DARJA DOMRACHEVA

The four-times Olympic champion has answered several questions about Belarus.

Four times Olympic champion Darja Domracheva is coaching the Chinese national biathlon team together with her famous husband Ole Einar Bjorndalen. In her interview with the special correspondent of "Match TV," she answered several questions about Belarus.

- The question is not about the politics, but personal. How much do you care about the well-known events in Belarus, and the subsequent reaction to these events?

- My heart is troubled, I'm worried as any other normal person. I would like the country to prosper and develop, to live a peaceful life. Any country goes through difficult times in its history. I believe that Belarus will pull through them, and everything will be fine in my country and among my people.

- Do the critical voices saying: "Domracheva has not expressed her attitude" scorch?

- If one fix on the exclamations and comments on the net, I don't know how one could possibly live in the world. I don`t take others` opinions as a guide, I try to follow my own thoughts and feelings. Criticized? Everyone has a right. As well as the choice of attitude to criticism.

- How long ago did you visit Belarus?

- At the end of October, when the nanny's visa to China expired. It was an opportunity to visit home.

- You once said that you could take your husband's surname. Are you ready to become Darja Bjorndalen?

- Now I have no time to think about such things, all my time and thoughts are occupied by the preparation of the team.

We remind that Darja's brother Mikita Domracheu was beaten by the Lukashenka law enforcers during the rally on October 11th, 2020, when he was riding his bike in the center of Minsk. They pushed architect Mikita off the bike, after which they started beating him up.

Domracheu stressed then that some citizens leave Belarus because of the lack of freedom: "I want all people to watch honest news on regular TV, to be able to receive different newspapers by mail, not to hide underground mailings, to communicate freely, to think for themselves, to have their own opinions and freedom of choice," said the man.

Mikita was also happy that he got the support of the society. He added that he wanted to live in a civilized world and the "New Belarus of the 21st century".
