The bravura mood in Drazdy has given way to depression.

In an interview with gordonua.com, Vadzim Kabanchuk, deputy commander of the Belarusian regiment named after Kastus Kalinouski, which fights on the side of Ukraine, said that the mood in Belarus has changed following the victories of the AFU.

"As everywhere else, the society is not homogeneous. But the problem is that the Belarusian society is in the Russian information field. There, of course, people are not as brainwashed as in Russia, but even among the Belarusians there are those who trust the propaganda. Just to make you understand, those raving mad Kiselyovs and Solovyovs are on the Belarusian TV every day. Can you imagine what they are saying? We are scanning, as far as we can, the public opinion inside the country, including the Belarusian military - the overwhelming majority do not want any war, let alone the war with Ukraine. The Belarusians are frightened by the word "war". It's become part of the DNA - so many wars have rolled over Belarus that it's scary for the people," said Kabanchuk.

In his opinion, the failure of the Russian army in spring and the running away from Kyiv impressed not only the Belarusian military, but also the civilian population in Belarus.

"The entire YouTube, the entire Internet was filled with pictures of burnt-out broken equipment. In this respect the Ukrainians won the information war. No other arguments and talk would have convinced the Belarusian military better than these pictures of burning military columns. Now there is information that the victorious and bravura mood that was at the beginning of the invasion in Belarus has been replaced by depression. They saw the defeat of the Russian army in Ukraine. Most Belarusian Lukashists are sent into a tailspin - their head was full of Kiselev stuff, and now they are simply disoriented. The myth about the 'second army of the world', about the 'Russian world', about Putin's invincibility has collapsed in front of their eyes," Kabanchuk noted.
