Video Fact: First Mobilised Russian Surrenders Under Special Programme

He got to the front five days after receiving a summons.

The first Russian mobilized man, upon arrival in Ukraine, voluntarily laid down his arms and surrendered with the help of the "I Want to Live" project. His story was published by the Coordinating Staff for the Treatment of Prisoners of War.

Mikhail Kulikov, 26, from Orsk, Russia, was sent to the front in Ukraine five days after receiving a summons.

"Before going for a medical check-up, I googled how I could surrender so as not to get killed. I found the "I Want to Live" channel on Telegram, it is a Ukrainian state programme. I found a number there, made a phone call, and they explained to me what and how to do, where to go and what to say so I wouldn't be killed," the man said.

We remind you that immediately after Russian dictator Vladimir Putin announced mobilization in Ukraine, there was a sharp increase in calls from Russian citizens to the hotline of the "I Want to Live" project regarding their surrender.
