Political Prisoner Yauhen Afnahel Has Serious Health Issues

In prison, his eyesight deteriorated.

Political prisoner, European Belarus activist Yauhen Afnahel, sentenced to seven years in prison, has been kept behind bars for almost 26 months. He served time in Navapolatsk Colony #1, and then the regime was strengthened and he was transferred to Mahiliou Prison #4.

During his time in detention, Yauhen’s eyesight deteriorated, so now he is forced to wear glasses, according to the Viasna human rights center. Behind bars, he reads and draws a lot. He is allowed phone calls only once a month.
