Rush hour was chosen for the action.
A month ago, on April 10, Pavel Barsuk, a resident of Brest, came out with an anti-war poster to the building of the Russian Consulate General. According to the Vaisna Human Rights Center, he chose the time for the protest so that there would be passers-by around him, it was around 18.30.
Pavel was arrested immediately. He was placed in a temporary detention center, and then drew up a report under Part 1 of Art. 24.23 of the Code of Administrative Offences (for violation of the established procedure for organizing or conducting mass events).
At the trial on April 12, Pavel noted that he deliberately went out with a poster to the consulate, because he wanted to express his strong objection against Russia's invasion of Ukraine.
The Court of Leninsky Вistrict of Brest (judge - Sviataslau Kalina) passed a verdict of a 10-day term of arrest for the man's civic engagement.
