On that day, Russia announced a retreat.
Russian Colonel General Alexander Lapin awarded his son Denis an order for the "liberation" of the Chernihiv region, a direction where the aggressor's army had made no progress.
The Russian BBC Service drew attention to this fact.
The journalists found a video of the award presentation on the website of the Russian Defense Ministry's propaganda Zvezda TV channel. The plot says the awards were given to servicemen who had shown courage and heroism during the "liberation" of settlements in the Chernihiv region.
However, no military successes in the direction of Chernihiv and Sumy were achieved by the Russian army.
"On that day, Russia announced a retreat from the Kyiv and Chernihiv directions," the authors of the article added.
The general's son, Lieutenant Colonel Denis Lapin, commands the 1st Guards Tank Regiment, the part of the Taman Motorized Rifle Division, known since World War II. Ukrainian intelligence named the 1st Tank Regiment among those units involved in the invasion.
