Ichkerian Battalion Fighters Liberate Village Of Arkhangelske In Kherson Region

Volunteers of free Ichkeria participate in the offensive of the Armed Forces in the south of Ukraine.

Fighters of the Independent Battalion of Special Purpose of the Armed Forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, which was formed in late July on the order of Akhmed Zakayev, head of the government in exile of the unrecognized Ichkeria, are taking part in the attack of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the south of the country.

The Kavkaz Reality website cited a military telegraph channel which published a photo and video of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria fighters in the village of Arkhangelske in Kherson region.

A video taken in Arkhangelske is also available on one of the Ukrainian YouTube channels. The battalion commander, Colonel Haji-Murat Zumso, claims that they managed to enter the village without any shots.

Ukrainian, Russian and independent sources reported the AFU offensive in Kherson region on 29 August. CNN, citing a source in the Ukrainian army, reported the liberation of four villages, including Arkhangelske.

The Independent Battalion of Special Purpose of the Armed Forces of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria is the fourth unit created by supporters of Chechen independence living abroad to help Ukraine. The battalion is part of the International Legion, which is part of the Ukrainian army.

The Dzhokhar Dudayev battalion (commander Adam Osmayev) and the Mad Pack unit, part of the AFU structure, are fighting on the Ukrainian side, as well as the Sheikh Mansur battalion under the command of Muslim Cheberloyevsky - as a volunteer unit.
