Russian troops will “literally get cold.”
In winter, the Ukrainian Defense Forces plan to attack the Russian command centers, ammunition depots and supply lines that are located in the rear, with missiles. If the Ukrainian Armed Forces manage to disrupt the enemy’s logistics, the occupiers “will literally get wet and cold.”
According to The New York Times, ATACMS missiles, which the United States recently transferred, give Ukrainian forces the ability to strike Russian positions throughout occupied territory.
At the same time, journalists note that the aggressor country Russia in 2023 has learned to better adapt to hostilities. The Russian Federation may try to change supply routes or use its artillery and aircraft to counter shelling by Ukrainian troops.
If Russian troops are drawn into the defense along a wide front, “then Russian forces will be outside, getting wet and cold,” analyst Jack Watling wrote.
“If targeted strikes can degrade their logistics, then the limited training and field craft of Russian forces can maximize climactic injuries.”
The NYT also described the plans of the occupiers. In particular, the Russian Federation will attack the civilian energy infrastructure of Ukraine.
