On the Internet, Belarusians who entered or left the country on October 21 share their concerns: many of them were given unusual questionnaires at the border. They included questions about the purpose of the trip, goods exported and expenses during the visit.
However, such research is carried out regularly. The questionnaires are developed by Belstat, and filling them out is voluntary and anonymous. MOST looked at what the previous survey showed.
The last time such information was collected was on April 15. Then the questionnaires were filled out by 1,456 non-residents and 2,073 citizens of Belarus.
Then it turned out that Belarusians travel abroad mainly for the purpose of employment (33.5%), to visit family and friends (25.3%) and on business trips (14.3%).
And non-residents come to Belarus mainly to see their relatives (most likely, these are former compatriots) and to shop.
Those who buy goods abroad import televisions into Belarus (on average they spend $474 per person who indicated the fact of import and the price of a TV), computer equipment and communications equipment ($470), electrical household appliances ($229), medicines ($175), tires and wheels ($140), power tools, chainsaws ($137), plumbing supplies ($129), building materials ($118), auto parts ($114).
