British intelligence reveals the details.
Over the past week, Russian troops may have lost at least four long-range surface-to-air missile (SAM) launchers as a result of strikes by the Ukrainian Defense Forces.
UK Defence Intelligence reported regarding intelligence data.
British Defence Intelligence recalled reports by Russian media dated October 26 about the destruction of three SA-21 launchers, which the interventionists placed in the occupied territory of the Luhansk region in Ukraine.
“Ukrainian sources reported additional losses of Russian air defence in Crimea,” the British Ministry of Defence said.
The publication also notes that the Russian Federation has long given priority to a sufficient number of high-tech long-range air defence systems “as a key component of its military strategy.”
“The recent losses highlight that Russia's Integrated Air Defence System continues to struggle against modern precision strike weapons and will highly likely increase the already significant strain on remaining systems and operators,” the report reads.
The ministry also noted that there is a “realistic possibility” that as Russia replaces the destroyed systems in Ukraine it will weaken its air defences in other operational areas.
Strikes against strategic targets of Russia’s air defence systems
Recall that Ukrainian forces successfully hit a strategic target of the air defence system of the Russian invaders in the temporarily occupied Crimea on the west coast on the night of October 30.
Also, Ukrainian forces destroyed the S-400 strategic air defence system near temporarily occupied Luhansk on October 25.
Ukrainian Southern Forces Joint Press Center Head Nataliya Humenyuk acknowledged that the military is destroying the enemy’s potential “not only offensively, but also defensively.”
Let us add that at the end of October, Russian media reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine attacked a Russian anti-aircraft missile regiment of the air defence forces near the village of Olenivka in the west of the peninsula.
