BPR Rada To Award Heroic Belarusians With Medals Of Pahonia Order

Aliaksandra Herasimenia is among them.

Chairman of the Rada of the Belarusian People's Republic Ivonka Survilla signed a decree on the Day of Heroes (the anniversary of the Slutsk armed uprising) on awarding the medal of the Order of Pahonia and the "For Combat Merit" medal, said First Deputy Chairman of the BPR Rada Siarhei Navumchyk.

The decree has a classified nature. The names of the four awardees are not published.

Three heroic women are among those whose names are listed among those awarded the medal of the Order of Pahonia.

They are multiple world and European champion in swimming, winner of three Olympic medals Aliaksandra Herasimenia, who stood up against the falsification of "elections" and terror against the people, showing exemplary indomitability and loyalty to the ideals of freedom.

This is opera singer Marharyta Liauchuk, whose voice has become the voice of the people's protest in 2020, and recently sounded at the fighting positions of the Belarusian volunteers.

This is Alina Nahornaya - her systematic struggle for the Belarusian language gives hope that the nation will not lose the main thing that distinguishes it from other nations.

All three have sacrificed a lot in their destinies for the future of Belarus.

Belarusian writer Olgerd Bakharevich has also been awarded the medal of the Order of Pahonia.

The Belarusian volunteer with the call sign "Atom" was awarded posthumously.
