To make everyone feel like a soldier.
The military commissar of the Kletsk district, Yury Pihuleuski, in a commentary for the “Da Novyh Peramoh” (To the New Victories) regional newspaper, confirmed that the main category of those liable for military service, who are now being taken to the training camp, are those who have never had anything to do with the army before.
“First of all, we are striving to call up those liable for military service who are on the military register, but who have not previously completed military service in the army. According to the law of the Republic of Belarus "On Military Duty and Military Service", there is a list of grounds that give the right to a deferment. For example, a young man without parents was enlisted in the reserve without doing military service or service in the reserve. Now he is subject to conscription for military training, and this is a normal phenomenon.
I believe that each of us is obliged at least once in our life to feel like a soldier, and even more so if one did not serve until the age of 27 due to circumstances. By the way, those who have not served before will take the military oath, which is very responsible for a man, already as a defender not only of his family, but also of the fatherland,” the military commissar noted.
Earlier, the Charter97.org website reported that in Belarus, those who did not serve were also called to military training.
