Heaps Of Trophy Helmets: AFU Demolished Kadyrovites’ Akhmat-Sever Formation In Maryinka

Heaps Of Trophy Helmets: AFU Demolished Kadyrovites’ Akhmat-Sever Formation In Maryinka

The “elite” unit lost about 80% of its personnel as dead.

Kadyrov's unit “Akhmat-Sever” lost about 80% of its personnel in the battles for Maryinka in the Donetsk region as the dead, wounded and deserters — the enemy was successfully counteracted by the 79th Specialized Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

A photograph illustrating the results of the battle, which is historial without exaggeration, between the 79th Airborne Brigade and Akhmat-Sever in Donetsk Maryinka was published by the Nightingale OSINT-War community. And this message was spread by the people's deputy of Ukraine, deputy chairman of the parliamentary committee on national security, defense and intelligence, Yuri Mysyahin.

In the photo one can see several dozen “trophy” helmets and the flag of the Russian regiment “Akhmat-Sever”, obtained by the fighters of the 79th Specialized Airborne Brigade during the fighting in Maryinka.

“There are more helmets hanging there, as they say. But that's not what matters. According to the information from reliable sources, the regiment suffered losses in the area of more than 80% — killed, wounded, and even captured. They write that they even took officers. This means that we will free many of our people from captivity,” the message says.

It is also reported that the vaunted Caucasian regiment, formed in early September 2022 following a personal order of Ramzan Kadyrov and included in the 42nd Guards Motorized Rifle Division of the RF Armed Forces, after fighting in the Donetsk town was withdrawn to the north of the Luhansk region, where it is now being disbanded. This is a rather rare historical event, especially considering the numerical advantage of the occupiers and the fact that they are literally levelling Maryinka to the ground.

It is important to note that the 79th Separate Airborne Assault Brigade is a military formation functioning as part of the Airborne Assault Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, numbering in a brigade, which is based in Mykolaiv in peacetime. On June 28, 2022, the Brigade was awarded the badge of honor “For Courage and Bravery”. In November 2022, the 79th Brigade took part in the liberation of the right bank of the Kherson region, and now these people are fighting on the eastern front.
