Ukrainian Air Defense Repels Massive Attack Of Russian Drones

All Iranian kamikaze drones over Kyiv were destroyed.

On the night of March 18, the Russian Federation attacked Ukraine with a large number of drones. An air alert was announced in Kyiv and the Kyiv region, as well as in the Poltava, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Kherson, Mykolaiv, Rivne, Khmelnytsky, Ternopil and Lviv regions. The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed to Ukrayinska Pravda that the Russians attacked with Shahed drones from the northern and southeastern directions.

The Kyiv regional military administration urged residents to stay in safe places until the end of the “air raid” signal. Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak wrote on Telegram: “Balalaikas are shot down by air defense forces. But don't ignore the air alerts.”

It is reported about the work of the Ukrainian air defense in the Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Chernihiv and Dnipro regions. Three UAVs, presumably Shahed-131/136, were shot down over the Dnipro region, Vostok air command reported.

At the same time, head of the Dnipro regional military administration Serhiy Lysak reported that two drones hit a critical infrastructure facility in the city of Novomoskovsk, and “serious damage” as a result of this. Earlier, Mayor of the city of Novomoskovsk Serhiy Reznik reported explosions in the city, and Ukrainian Telegram channels published a photo from a place with a rising pillar of fire.

In Kyiv, all kamikaze drones that attacked the capital of Ukraine were destroyed. This was announced on Telegram by the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration Serhiy Popko. “The enemy once again launched Shahed barrage ammunition in the direction of Kyiv,” he wrote. “All air targets were destroyed by our air defense forces. Thanks again for their excellent work. According to the information at the moment — no casualties or destruction. The information is being confirmed.”
