Mass Protests Against ‘Foreign Agents Law’ Resume In Tbilisi

A large column is moving towards the building of the Georgian parliament.

In the capital of Georgia, Tbilisi, a procession of protesters against the law on “foreign agents” began.

At the moment, people are walking down the street towards the parliament building in a column with a banner and the slogan No Russian Law.

As the website Charter97.org reported, on March 7 in Georgia, the parliament supported the draft law on “foreign agents” in the first reading. In response, thousands of protesters gathered under the building of the Georgian parliament to oppose the adoption of the bill. Against them, the Georgian security forces used water cannons and tear gas, and there were clashes between the protesters and the police.

Georgian President Salome Zurabishvili supported the protesters against the bill on “foreign agents” and promised to veto it if the document is adopted in the parliament of the republic.

At night, the protest action in Tbilisi, which was mopped up on the square in front of the parliament, moved to the adjacent streets.
