Media: Lukashenka's Rapid Health Deterioration Launches 'Power Transfer' Scenario

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Patrushev, head of the FSB Bortnikov and head of foreign intelligence Naryshkin arrived in Minsk.

The dictator's son Victar Lukashenka has urgently left for Beijing. Rumours from Minsk suggest that Lukashenka's drastic health deterioration is forcing his entourage to urgently develop a scenario for the transfer of power, BRIEF reports.

Security Council Secretary Patrushev, FSB head Bortnikov and foreign intelligence chief Naryshkin arrived in Minsk yesterday from Moscow.

The Lukashenka administration has begun preparations for early "elections" and the convocation of an "all-Belarusian people's assembly".

Lukashenka is expected to become the "head" of the "people's assembly".

There is no decision on Lukashenka's successor.

Victar Sheiman, the former head of the administration and prosecutor of Belarus, and Victar Lukashenka were planning to appoint Roman Holovchenko, the prime minister, as president.

Another part of Lukashenka's entourage is betting on Natallia Kachanava.

A likely compromise could be the appointment of Mikhail Miasnikovich as Lukashenka's successor.

The Russian side also suggests Stanislav Zas. A source in Minsk reports that the Russian security forces offer to introduce a limited contingent of the CSTO into the territory of Belarus during the transfer of power.

It is also offered not to delay the process of power transfer and to make it fast. Moscow also suggests using the transfer of tactical nuclear weapons to bring in Russian troops.
