AFU Powerfully Advancing In South: Berdyansk, Melitopol - No Longer Rear Of Russian Army

The situation on the front has changed dramatically.

Occupied Melitopol and Berdyansk are no longer the rear of the enemy. The AFU continue the counter-offensive in the south and intend to reach the Azov coast. This was stated by the representative of the Defence forces of the Tavria direction Valery Shershen.

He said on the air of Radio Svaboda that the occupied Berdyansk and Melitopol of Zaporizhzhia region are no longer the rear of the Russian invaders. The situation has changed after the Ukrainian army launched its counter-offensive in the south.

"We can say that Berdyansk and Melitopol are no longer considered the rear of the Russian troops. Perhaps everyone understands perfectly well why since the start of our troops' advance to the south, since the start of offensive operations, since the start of our counter-offensive, we started to call Berdyansk and Melitopol advance vectors," Shershen noted.

According to him, the strategic goal of the Ukrainian army is further advancement in the south and access to the Azov coast. Therefore, the AFU is actively working on the destruction of enemy positions in this direction.

"It is absolutely clear that we rely on the concept of effective comprehensive fire defeat of the enemy, destroying the enemy's potential, its rear and logistics, material and technical base, management structures and command centres. The missile forces are working effectively for this purpose, long-range artillery is working accurately," the speaker said.

He also added that the AFU to achieve successes use complex solutions.

"And it is worth noting that the objects for defeat are determined in the headquarters, where the command carries out the appropriate planning, coordination and implementation. Let's praise ourselves. After all, the AFU is an intellectual army. And leadership, motivation and attacks, i.e. a clearly defined task and the goal we have, are determinant in this," emphasised Valery Shershen.

AFU Counter Offensive

Deputy Minister of Defence of Ukraine Hanna Malyar said that the AFU is advancing and advancing in the Bakhmut direction. The defenders have gained a foothold on the liberated locations.

The General Staff of the AFU said earlier that the AFU advanced and consolidated on new borders in the Berdyansk direction. The troops are consolidating on the recaptured boundaries.

Brigadier General Oleksandr Tarnavsky said that the Ukrainian defence forces had already received cluster munitions from the USA. However, they have not been used so far. In Tarnavsky's opinion, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will gain a tangible advantage on the frontline after they start using them.
