Lithuania Blocks Traffic At Medininkai Checkpoint On The Border With Belarus

What are the reasons?

Today at 13.00, Lithuania unilaterally stopped the registration of individuals and vehicles at the Medininkai checkpoint (opposite the Kamenny Loh checkpoint), according to the Belarussian State Border Committee.

The report reads that Belarus is "ready to provide passage of individuals and vehicles." The State Border Committee recommend taking this information into account and choosing alternative routes.

It is known that the day before, Lithuania resumed border control on the borders between the EU member states at the time of the NATO summit in Vilnius. In total, seven checkpoints have been opened: two on the border with Poland and five on the border with Latvia. Control is also being resumed at the port of Klaipeda and at airports.
