Tatstsiana Seviarynets, the mother of Pavel Seviarynets, a politician sentenced to seven years in prison, has been released from hospital to go home before the trial, the political prisoner's sister wrote on Facebook.
On 9 January, it emerged that law enforcement officials had detained the politician's mother. The reason was "subscriptions on Facebook", the sister later clarified. "It is not known when the trial will take place," she wrote.
The day after her arrest, Tatstsiana Seviarynets was taken to hospital with high blood pressure.
In October 2020, Tatstsiana Seviarynets was arrested for taking part in the pensioners' march.
The politician Pavel Seviarynets was detained on 7 June 2020 after the action at the Komarovski market in Minsk, after which the court sentenced him to five consecutive 15-day detentions. He was charged under the article on mass riots (Part 2 of Article 293 of the Criminal Code of Belarus).
In May 2021, the court sentenced the politician to 7 years in an enhanced regime colony for "mass riots" (Article 293 of the Criminal Code). On 21 June, the Shklou District Court sentenced him to three years' imprisonment.
