The Russians hastily withdrew the ships.
Successful strikes by Ukrainian troops on the railway and port in the temporarily occupied Berdyansk made it impossible for the Russians to use them for military logistics. This was reported on air by the adviser to the mayor of Mariupol, Petro Andryushchenko, on Channel 24.
Andryushchenko expressed hope that similar attacks could be carried out in other occupied territories in order to slow down the advance of Russian troops and prevent them from building logistics.
He also noted that as a result of the UAV strike on October 31, a Russian ship was damaged, and now the port in Berdiansk is empty.
“Since October 31, the occupiers began to withdraw them from the port, including the ship that was damaged. The power supply was actually destroyed due to the substation being hit, which was also probably one of the targets, because its failure would de-energize the Berdiansk port, making loading and unloading impossible," Andryushchenko explained.
Repair work is currently ongoing at the site of the strike, but its duration is unknown. The Mariupol mayor's adviser reported that the occupiers suffered during the attack on the port, since the strike hit industrial warehouses.
According to Andryushchenko, this attack was quite successful and inspires Ukrainians in the occupied territories.
"Now we see the targeted work of the Ukrainian Defense Forces together with our partisan movement to neutralize the enemy's logistics. The strike on the port is the final point in the chain," Andryushchenko noted.
