Plane Putin Flew On Seriously Damaged Due To Engine Explosion

The head of the Russian Federation survived only due to the short duration of the flight.

The Russian supersonic strategic missile-carrying bomber TU-160M with tail number 801, on which Russian President Vladimir Putin flew in February 2024, was seriously damaged due to a fire that broke out in the engine after the explosion. The incident occurred back on March 11.

This is reported by the VChK-OGPU investigation project.

According to investigators, during preparations for takeoff there was an explosion, fire and destruction of one of the engines. As a result of the spread of the fire, 3 more engines burned out and the aircraft received significant damage.

To eliminate the causes of the accident, all aircraft with these engines must be grounded from flights.

Investigators say the fire and explosion of the first engine was the result of the failure of a defective turbine support.

“On February 22, Putin flew on this particular plane and survived only due to the short duration of the flight,” the message says.
