The International Olympic Committee announced that Russian and Belarusian athletes, competing at the Olympics in Paris as neutral individual participants without a flag or national symbols, can to take part in the closing ceremony of the Olympics. It will take place on the evening of August 11.
In the opening ceremony on July 26, when the teams sailed along the Seine River in boats, Belarusian athletes did not participate, since our country is represented at the Games in a neutral status.
“The IOC Executive Board has decided that neutral individual athletes will be able to take part in the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris 2024,” the committee said in a statement.
