Wargaming co-founder Nikolai Katselapov was sentenced in absentia to 13 years in prison, writes the Viasna human rights center.
In addition, he was awarded a fine of 50,000 basic (2,100,000 rubles).
He was convicted under three criminal protest articles - "financing of extremist activity" (part 1, article 361-2 of the Criminal Code), repeated "financing of extremist activity" (part 2, article 361-2 of the Criminal Code), and "financing of terrorist activity" (part 2, article 290-1 of the Criminal Code).
Previously, pro-government channels and state media wrote that Nikolai transferred "hundreds of thousands of dollars" in cryptocurrency to various initiatives that the Belarusian authorities consider "extremist."
