We're talking about a contract worth billions and a change in military doctrine.

For the first time in history, Denmark intends to announce a billion-dollar deal to purchase high-precision, long-range missiles as part of its plans to strengthen its security.

This was reported by the TV channel TV2, citing anonymous sources.

Last year, the Danish government announced its intention to acquire long-range offensive weapons to counter the Russian military threat.

Specifically, Denmark will announce a deal to purchase Anthem-type missiles manufactured by the American defense company Covenant.

In addition, the country will acquire Joint Strike Missiles (JSM) for its F-35 fighter jets. These missiles are manufactured by the Norwegian company Kongsberg and the American Raytheon Group.
Finally, there are plans to subsequently purchase American JASSM missiles, which have an extremely long range and significant explosive power.

Thus, Denmark will gain the capability to use offensive weapons.

The government previously referred to this as a paradigm shift, as the new types of weapons are capable of striking targets far beyond the Russian front lines.

The Danish armed forces have always been focused on defending against attacks.

It is reported that on Thursday at 3:30 p.m., Danish Defense Minister Jeppe Brøus will hold a press conference.
