The enemies didn't suspect a thing.

A soldier from the 79th Separate Taurida Airborne Assault Brigade Evgeny, whose call sign is “Moryachok,” managed to outwit the occupiers during one of his combat missions by posing as a Russian soldier. According to "Glavkom", the brigade shared the assault soldier’s story on social media.

While moving through the area, Ukrainian soldiers unexpectedly came across a Russian soldier. To avoid being exposed and to buy time, Yevhen quickly turned off his radio and switched to speaking Russian. He told the occupier that he was supposedly coming from a nearby forest with a comrade and had been forced to change into a Ukrainian Armed Forces uniform because their own had burned.

“I turned off my radio, switched to Russian, and said: ‘So-and-so. We’re coming from that forest; we changed into their uniforms because ours burned up.’ That’s how we talked to him,” recalls Moryachok.

To dispel any suspicions, the soldier struck up a casual conversation: he asked the enemy for a cigarette and some water. The occupier didn’t suspect a thing and even tried to warn “his own” about Ukrainian drones. On top of that, he revealed the locations of other Russian positions in the forest.

Having obtained the necessary information, the assault troops quickly took cover, established contact with command, and relayed the enemy’s coordinates for drone strikes.

According to Moryachok, the Russians in this sector were exhausted, lacked proper communications, and had little experience. The intelligence obtained through military cunning allowed the fighters of the 79th Brigade to successfully complete their mission and secure their positions.
