Russia Has Launched A New Method Of Mobilizing Citizens For The War In Ukraine

In Russia, pressure is mounting on citizens to force them to sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense to participate in the criminal war against Ukraine.

According to the partisan movement “Atesh”, recruitment agencies and specialized call centers are making mass phone calls to people with mobilization orders, posing as military registration and enlistment office staff.

According to activists, the operators are using threats and psychological pressure. Citizens are told that refusing the contract will not spare them from being sent to the army: in the event of forced mobilization, they will allegedly lose their payments, benefits, and social guarantees.

“Atesh” reports that government agencies have issued new instructions for recruiters. These were previously obtained by hackers from the “Cyber-Atesh” unit.

According to these materials, the requirements for potential contract soldiers have been significantly relaxed: women have been removed from the list of restrictions, and the age limit has been raised to 64.

In addition, according to the movement, a number of serious illnesses—including HIV, hepatitis, insulin-dependent diabetes, and a history of heart attacks and strokes—are no longer considered automatic grounds for rejection. Recruiters provide information on the amount of pay only upon the candidates’ personal request, and criminal background checks are conducted merely as a formality.
