The first details of the new package of sanctions against Moscow have been revealed.
As part of a new package of sanctions against Russia, the European Union may impose additional restrictions on Russian diplomats.

According to Euronews, the European Union is deeply concerned about the intensification of Russia’s hybrid war against European countries. There is speculation that Russian diplomats may be involved in these hybrid attacks.
In this regard, as part of a new package of sanctions against Moscow, additional restrictions on the movement of Russian diplomats across Europe may be imposed.
In addition, there are proposals to step up vetting of Russian diplomats. The relevant options are currently being discussed in Brussels, but the consultations are still in the early stages.
Europe believes that Russia attempted to stage a provocation involving a drone at the Leipzig Airport (Germany) and was also involved in the arson attack on a defense facility in Estonia.
In September, Hungary expelled 10 Russian diplomats on charges of activities incompatible with the 1961 Vienna Convention.
In 2025, as part of the 19th package of sanctions against Russia for its war against Ukraine, the European Union imposed restrictions on Russian diplomats. They are now required to report their future trips to other European countries.
