Today they're giving you cufflinks, but tomorrow they'll drag all the skeletons out of the closet.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York has filed additional charges against former Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores.

The new indictment states that for more than two decades, the former Venezuelan leader and his wife “participated in a conspiracy to commit torture, including against United States citizens.”

“Maduro and other Venezuelan leaders conspired to suppress dissent through gross human rights violations, issuing orders and condoning violence, threats, and physical torture under the guise of the law,” — according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.

New charges against Maduro are Lukashenko’s worst nightmare. This is yet another reminder that no dialogue with the U.S. presidential administration—including personal phone conversations—is a guarantee that everyone will forget your sins. Today they give you cufflinks, and tomorrow they’ll dig up all the skeletons in your closet.

Muammar Gaddafi is proof enough. He managed to briefly return to the world stage, despite being the mastermind behind a massive terrorist attack. But a rope can only twist so far…
