Maritime Drones Hit A Tanker Of Russia's "shadow Fleet" Near Tuapse

The strikes were to the stern of the vessel.

On the morning of Wednesday, April 29, soldiers of the AFU Naval Forces hit a Russian tanker of the Russian shadow fleet "MARQUISE" with the help of two naval drones. It was drifting 200 kilometers from Tuapse, waiting to be loaded at sea.

The strikes were made in the aft part of the vessel. This was reported in the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The shadow fleet of the Russian Federation suffered losses

"This morning a sub-sanctioned vessel "MARQUISE" (tanker, flag of Cameroon, without cargo, cargo capacity of more than 37 thousand tons) was hit by a unit of the Naval Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine using two kamikaze MBEKs. At the time of the hit, the vessel was adrift, in the area of 210 kilometers southeast of the city of Tuapse (Russia)," the General Staff said in a statement.

"MARQUISE" was adrift with AIS turned off, which is used to identify ships, their dimensions, course and other data. So the tanker was most likely waiting to be loaded into the sea from another vessel.

The Chief of Staff specified that the hit was carried out in the aft part, in the area of the propeller steering group and engine room.

"The tanker "MARQUISE" is under sanctions of Ukraine, Great Britain, European Union, Switzerland, New Zealand and Canada and was used by the enemy for illegal transportation of oil products. The degree of damage is being specified," the General Staff said.

It added that the Ukrainian Defense Forces will continue to take systematic measures to stop the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
