Zelensky Has Mocked Russia's New Geranium 5

It's a pathetic copy of the Flamingo.

The new Russian drone missile Geran-5, which was demonstrated during the May 9 parade in Moscow, is an attempt to copy the Ukrainian Flamingo cruise missile. However, the Russian development is significantly inferior to the Ukrainian one in terms of characteristics. This was stated by the advisor to the Ukrainian president and former head of the Ministry of Strategprom Alexander Kamyshyn, writes LIGA.net.

He said that the external similarity between the Russian Geranium-5 and the Ukrainian FP-5 Flamingo is explained by the fact that the Russians tried to copy the Ukrainian design.

Kamyshin emphasized that the Russian drone has about ten times less range and combat capability than the Ukrainian Flamingo. According to the presidential advisor's assessment, the Geran-5 is somewhere between the Ukrainian drone missiles Peklo and Palyanitsa in terms of its capabilities.

He also sharply criticized the Russian novelty, saying that in the fifth year of a full-scale war, Russia has nothing to demonstrate but a "pathetic copy" of Ukrainian weapons.

What is known about the Ukrainian "Flamingo"

The military classification of the "Flamingo" is formally codified as a drone. At the same time, the Fire Point company explained that such a decision was due to the certification procedure and faster admission of the weapon to use.

Developers claim that the range of the "Flamingo" is up to 3,000 kilometers, and the maximum mass of the warhead - 1,150 kg.

For comparison, according to Ukrainian intelligence, the Russian Geran-5 has a warhead of about 90 kilograms and a range of about 1,000 kilometers.

"Flamingo" has already been used for strikes against the Russian Federation

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier reported that it was the "Flamingo" that was used to strike a Russian military plant in Cheboksary on May 5. According to him, the drone missiles traveled more than 1,500 kilometers.
