Kaya Kallas: Europe Must Remain Vigilant

Before talking to the RF, the EU should define what exactly it is talking about.

Russia is imposing "old players" on Europe for negotiations, trying to increase its influence. However, the dialog is still premature. This was stated by High Representative Kaija Kallas, liga.net.

She said that before dialog with Russia, positions within the EU should be agreed upon.

"Before talking to Russia, we should discuss among ourselves what exactly we want to talk to Russia about," Kallas said.

She also noted the intensification of Russia's attempts to "return to normality." In particular, Russians are once again being allowed to participate in sporting events "as if nothing had happened."

"We saw the same thing at the Venice Biennale. Russia is constantly working to regain its influence - and Europe must remain vigilant," Callas said.
