"NATO May Raze Russian Bases In Kaliningrad"

Lithuanian Foreign Minister warned Russia.

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kiastutis Budrys has said that NATO has the capabilities to destroy Russian bases in Kaliningrad if the need arises.

He said this in an interview with Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

He said Russia has turned Kaliningrad into a "small fortress" with air defense systems and missile systems, but the Alliance is capable of destroying these facilities in the event of a conflict.

"We must show the Russians that we are capable of breaking through their small fortress they have built in Kaliningrad. If necessary, NATO has the means to flatten Russian air defense and missile bases located there," he said.

The minister also stressed that Europe should not underestimate the risks of a potential conflict with Russia. According to him, in case of a breakthrough of the front, the consequences will be felt not only by the eastern flank of NATO, but also by the entire EU.
