The head of China has shown his true attitude towards the Russian dictator.

Vladimir Putin has made a visit to China. Video of the meeting with the Chinese leader clearly shows him disparaging the Russian dictator.

Historian, politician and diplomat Roman Bessmertny noted in a commentary to "Channel 24" that Putin and Si Jinping have completely different builds. The protocol people made a funny mistake when they allowed a close-up shot of them. Putin looks like he is looking at his master.

How does Xi Jinping feel about Putin?

According to Bessmertny, it is also worth paying attention to Putin's gestures during his meeting with Xi. He tried in every way to show his favor.

"Look at his gestures. Not to mention the hand gestures. It is clearly visible that Putin is in the role of a petitioner. The Russian 'czar' always tries to dominate the dialog. And here he is lined up like a schoolboy. And Xi is standing relaxed. Putin demonstrates second-rate," Bessmertny noted.

Also telling was Xi Jinping's reaction during the joint press conference. One could see how he tried to keep his distance from the Russian dictator when he spoke.

"Xi Jinping kept somehow fading away at that moment. It shows that he's starting to shun Putin, as if he's contagious. Of course, Xi continues to talk about Putin as an ally and partner, but it feels like he wants to keep his distance from him," says Bessmertny.

Additionally, Russian dictator Putin's visit to China lasted from May 19 to 20. Following its results, the PRC and the Russian Federation signed a document titled "Declaration on the Establishment of a Multipolar World and International Relations of a New Type." Both Putin and Xi Jinping said that relations between the countries are strengthening, and they cooperate especially strongly in the energy sector.

The document cynically states that international disputes and conflicts should be resolved peacefully with "the elimination of their root causes." Russian dictator Putin constantly justifies his aggression with various brazen "root causes" like "NATO expansion," "humiliation of the Russian-speaking population," and so on.

What does China really need from Russia?"

International expert Stanislav Zhelikhovsky noted that China should not be perceived as an ally of Russia. The attitude there is actually quite different. The PRC perceives Russia as a resource base that can be used. And China's main goal is to increase its geopolitical influence.

Alexander Kraev, an expert of the Foreign Policy Council "Ukrainian Prism", notes that China and Russia are not equal relations at all. It is important for dictator Putin to make this visit in order to bargain for more time to continue the war in Ukraine. The US has repeatedly demanded that China could influence the war and bring the RF to the negotiating table. The Russian dictator wants to delay this scenario, so he is preparing for various economic concessions and offers.

In fact, China is in a rather favorable situation. On May 13 - 15, an American delegation led by Donald Trump came to China. Both the US and Russia are making their business offers to the PRC. They found themselves in a situation where they simply can choose the best option.
