The US Is Concerned About Russia's Campaign Against The Baltic States

Rubio issued a statement.

U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed concern about Russia's campaign against the Baltic states. He said this during a NATO foreign ministers' meeting in Sweden, The Guardian.

Rubio commented on Russia's accusations that the Baltic states are allegedly preparing to cooperate with Ukraine for drone attacks on Russian territory. The secretary of state said it was "worrisome" because of the possible escalation.

"We understand that these countries feel threatened by this, for obvious reasons. So it's a concern because you always worry that something like this could escalate into something bigger," Rubio said.

He said the U.S. is closely monitoring the situation and is actively engaged with NATO.

"We're concerned about it because we don't want it to lead to some broader conflict that could actually lead to something much worse," Rubio added.
