Ukraine legally records Belarus' participation in the war on Russia's side and claims the right to self-defense in accordance with the UN Charter.
Ukraine's Foreign Minister Andriy Sibiga said this, according to Interfax-Ukraine.
"On February 24, 2022, Belarus acted as an accomplice. Lukashenko's regime acted as a henchman of the Russian regime, providing its territory to attack Ukraine, providing territory for missile strikes. We have legally recorded all this," said Sibiga.
He emphasized that Ukraine reserves the right to respond in accordance with international law.
"Ukraine will always respond. We have the right to do so - Article 51 of the UN Charter. The right to self-defense. Therefore, we are also working with partners to neutralize and minimize these threats from Belarus. To prevent the next Belarusian people from being dragged into someone else's war. We are working on it," said the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry.
