Politico: Ukraine Has Blocked Russia's Land Corridor To Crimea

Ukrainian drones hunt for Russian logistics deep behind the scenes.

The mass use of medium-range drones in recent months has allowed the AFU to take control of the "federal highway R-280 "Novorossiya", which is called a "land bridge" to occupied Crimea. The publication Politico writes about it.

It is noted that it provides supplies to both the annexed peninsula and the Russian grouping on the southern front - in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions.

Since the beginning of spring, unmanned strikes have neutralized Russian air defense in the region, after which drones were allowed to move freely anywhere in the occupied territories. Now getting to the Novorossiya highway, which is 100 kilometers from the front line, is a matter of one hour for Ukrainian UAVs.

The publication writes that the massive and effective strikes on Russian supply routes testify to the growing capabilities of Ukrainian drones and a significant increase in their production. Thanks to this, Kiev is no longer dependent on allied arms supplies.

The Institute for the Study of War estimates that the strikes on highways, along with constant bombing of warehouses, command centers, logistics routes, and air defense systems, are limiting Russia's ability to move troops and equipment to the front. As a result, the rate of advance of Russian troops in the southern direction has fallen dramatically compared to previous years.
