The drone may have changed trajectory after striking over Ukraine.
Romanian President Nicusor Dan has said that a Russian drone that crashed into an apartment building in the city of Galati probably changed its trajectory after being struck over Ukrainian territory. He said responsibility for the incident lies entirely with Russia, which continues attacks near the Romanian border.
HotNews writes HotNews. The Romanian head of state visited Galati, where he inspected the site of the drone crash and spoke to the affected residents of the house.
According to Nicusor Dan, on the night of the attack, Russia launched a group of 43 drones that were moving from east to west across Ukraine near the Romanian border.
"It was a group of 43 drones that came from the eastern direction and flew over Ukraine about 20-30 kilometers north of the Danube. Some of them were shot down while flying over Ukrainian territory, and one of the drones, which was probably hit over the city of Reni, changed its trajectory and flew towards Galati," the Romanian president explained.
He emphasized that regardless of the circumstances of the drone downing, Russia, which carries out massive attacks near the borders of NATO countries, is responsible for the incident.
Reminder, a Russian drone fell on a multi-storey apartment building in Galati on Friday night at around 02:00.
As a result of the incident, two people were treated on the spot, while a woman and her 14-year-old child received burns and were hospitalized. About 70 residents were also evacuated from the house.
