AFU drones drove the Russian fleet back into the ports.
Ukraine is beginning to surpass the enemy on all fronts in the war unleashed by Russia and has already actually won the battle for the Black Sea.
This was stated by European Commissioner for Defense and Space Andrius Kubilius at the Black Sea Security Forum, according to Ukrinform.
"Today Ukrainian drones drove the Russian fleet back to its ports. We can now say that Ukraine has won the battle for the Black Sea - the biggest naval victory over Russia in more than 120 years, since the Russo-Japanese War. At the same time, the fight for Ukraine continues," the European Commissioner said.
Kubilius noted that Ukraine's success in countering Russia in the Black Sea began four years ago with the feat of the heroes of Snake Island and the sinking of the flagship of the Russian Black Sea Fleet - the cruiser "Moscow".
He said Ukraine is beginning to outmaneuver the enemy on all fronts.
"Ukrainian drones have stopped Russia's advance at sea, on land and in the air, and are now striking at increasingly important targets deep inside Russian territory. The more Ukraine succeeds, the more nervous Putin gets, intensifying missile and drone attacks," he emphasized.
The European Commissioner also assured that the EU does not intend to reduce its support for Ukraine, but on the contrary - will increase its assistance, because Ukraine is protecting not only its own independence, but also the security of the whole Europe.
"Ukraine has the biggest, best and bravest army in Europe. It has also created one of the most innovative defense industries in the world thanks to the experience gained on the battlefield at a very high cost," he added.
In addition, Kubilius expressed hope that in the future Ukraine will become one of the key elements of the European security system and an important component of the future European Defense Union. Ukraine's membership in the EU will be an important factor in strengthening security both in the Black Sea region and in the whole of Europe.
