Russia violated the ceasefire.
Today Russia violated the ceasefire announced by Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky since May 6, so "we are free to act on May 9."
Radio NV military observer Denis Popovich said this on the air of Radio NV. He emphasized that it would have been worth "striking" Moscow on May 9, at least for an image purpose, a political one that is sometimes more important than a military one. According to him, this would show that the Russian Federation is not capable of defending Moscow even on important days for them.
Popovich expressed the opinion that it could have been a combined strike - drones and Flamingo missiles. He believes it would also be appropriate to strike, from a military point of view, any region where there are enterprises working for the Russian military-industrial complex.
"If the parade is disrupted, it will mean that Putin cannot even defend Moscow. The question arises as to what he can even defend. If there is a crater in Red Square, then Russians will have a lot of questions for the dictator in general," Popovich emphasized.
The columnist noted that the celebration of Victory Day over the Nazis was put at the core of the Putin regime's ideology.
"This is their ideological staple. Putin wants to present the situation in such a way that it was Russia that won World War II, that is him, as he considers himself the main part of the state he leads. So it is an ideological issue for him to hold a parade of any kind: with or without equipment, with or without internet.... If this parade is disrupted, it will mean a lot. It will confirm that he is not capable of defending Moscow. And if he is not able to protect it during such an important event for him, the question arises what he is able to protect at all," Popovich explained.
At the same time, he added that there is already an underlying dissatisfaction in Russia with Putin, who cannot protect the regions from Ukrainian strikes.
