Ukrainian Defense Forces Sank The Cargo Ship Lady Augusta And Brought The Port Of Mariupol To A Standstill

The port has lost all power and is unable to operate.

Ukrainian forces have destroyed key infrastructure at the Mariupol commercial port . It is now completely without power and cannot function.

This was reported by Charter97.org citing a statement from the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov.”

What was destroyed at the port

As a result of a joint operation by several units—the 1st Corps of the National Guard of Ukraine “Azov,” the SBU Main Directorate in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the “A” Special Operations Center, and the Special Forces Service—the following facilities were struck:


power substations;
radar equipment;

repair infrastructure;

control tower;

tanks containing fuel and lubricants.

The dry cargo ship “Lady Augusta” was a specific target—it is part of Russia’s so-called shadow fleet and is subject to sanctions. It was also hit during the operation.

Consequences for the occupiers

The Mariupol commercial port is completely without power. Logistics for Russian troops in the region have been significantly hampered.
